Themed Areas | 2012

The entire mezzanine level will no doubt be the largest feature highlighted at the expo. The area will be divided into dedicated themed areas showcasing various product categories that were decided on as a result of visitor research done over the past 2 years.

The mezzanine level welcomes 60% of the visitors entering the show over the 4 days. The topical and trendy themed areas add a new dimension to the HOMEMAKERS Visitors’ experience.

Craft is back, and is not only taking South Africa, but the world by storm. After last year’s launch and great success of the Creative Craft area, there is no doubt we are reaching the precise target market to showcase this themed area again. Li Edelkoord, top international trend forecaster, predicted that 2012 would be marked by a rise in creative spirit, a desire for fantasy and the expression of our subconscious. And she was proved right by the visitor and exhibitor demand for crafts, handmade items, and unique, one of a kind pieces for the home.

Decor and Accessories is a brand new themed area dedicated to eliminating those décor challenges, enabling visitors to create a trendy and inspired look for their homes, from soft furnishings to quality advice from interior decorators.

Take a tantalising journey enjoying tastings of wine, olives, pesto’s, cheeses convenience meals and chocolates – all to enhance and add to your Deli at home, and give you a taste for the exotic. This exciting and experiential themed area, Deli-cious, was introduced at the 2010 HOMEMAKERS Expo and created a hive of activity with many participants running out of stock each day of the show, resulting in phenomenal sales reported!

Now in its third year Green living will showcase companies that specialise in innovative interior and exterior home related, environmentally friendly products and services.
Each year as the need for ‘green’ grows, visitors flock to this themed area to seek products and advice from the experts on hand.

Over 70% of visitors to our show consist of families with children, looking to improve not only their homes but also their children’s bedrooms, indoor and outdoor play area, as well as to see to their entertainment and educational needs. Now in its 5th year, Kids Zone will once again showcase companies that specialise in anything and everything for our younger, future generation.
